This is the song presentation from yesterday, but due to the power of the presentation and that I find no more appropriate song for the theme of our presentation at Lotus today, I leave it here for enjoying again. Today, however, I give the lyrics.

It was raining in my heart, falling deep inside of me.
Drowning in my soul, this silence rushes over me.
I'm breath against this fire, and i will not turn away. oh no
I'm waiting for time to carry me, like a tempest to the sea.
Standing strong, watching over.

"Chorus"
Love will keep me believing.
through the dark, can you hear me calling?
Holding on when I'm dreaming.
Love is all, Love is all, love is all.

Thundering on high, love was all i knew before i fell.
And now the shots of man, echoing inside myself.
I'm breath against this fire, and i will not turn away, oh no.
I'm waiting for time to carry me, like a tempest to the sea.
Standing strong, watching over, ya.

"Chorus"
Holding on when I'm dreaming, love is all, love is all.

"Chorus"
Like a tempest to the sea I'm standing.
Love is all, Love is all, Love is all. (2X)

The late and eminent Christian writer, C.K. Chesterton, told the tale of a man who cared not for spiritual matters and died, afterward going to hell. His friends missed him much. His business agent went down to the gates of hell, to see if there were any way to get him released. He pleaded, but the iron gates did not open. The dead man's priest went down, also. The priest declared, "He was not really a bad fellow, given time he would have matured. Let him out, please!" The gates were stubbornly shut against the voices of these who pleaded on the man's behalf. At last, his mother descended to hell. She did not beg for his release. Rather, his mother, with faltering voice, spoke, "Let me in." Immediately, the great, iron gates opened for the son to come out.

This same theme of the power of Redemptive Love is seen in the movie starring Robin Williams, "What Dreams May Come." I encourage you to see it. Redemption is spoken of in varied ways in diverse wisdom traditions and, generally, if not always, is seen to be the only Power to redeem us from the hells we create. Hell is mostly an inner condition, but one that creates the social hells we seem bent on creating and recreating. But we need not doubt the grace of Love to bring hope and healing. And this Love plays no favorites - we have had enough of such teaching, preaching, and politics. We are each special, only for we are all special.

I, as a Hospice Chaplain, find joy, even if sometimes frustration, in serving the patients that are the most difficult to connect with. I find them to be an invitation to trust the power of Love, which I have taught and desire to practice myself. Possibly, Love most works when we find ourselves inept apparently to reach another person. And, possibly, Love is working always and already in ways we have never dreamt and, so, should simply trust the unseen allurements of Grace.

*Lotus of the Heart is a Work of Arem Nahariim-Samadhi ~ a Hospice Chaplain, interspiritual author, writer, poet, and bicyclist. He is someone in love with Life and inviting others to that same ecstasy of Love ~ and, by the way, herein is nothing he claims as his own.
